Conventions of cd packaging

for the typical cd cover you will need to include all of these typical conventions.

     - You will need to have a title on the front of your cd case
     - You will need to include a tracklist on the back
     - You will need a barcode
     - You will need a spine to hold the case togeather
     - You will need a main image on the front of the cd case
     - You will need a tray backing
     - You will need a sticker on the case
     - You will need a booklet with additional information in it
     - You will need institutional information somewhere in the package
     - You will need the name of your company and the name of the artist
     - You will need to have a image on the disk
     - You will need to have the lyrics to your song somewhere in the package
     - You will need to include parental advisory
     - You will also need to include the companies logo/trademark
     - You will need the case to be a jewel case
     - You will need to include the date
     - And you will need to include the mechanism of which the cd ejects

these are only the average cd conventions, and not all cds apply to these

Focus  group for Gyptian results.

After conducting a focus group session and talking about my proposal these are the changes that I made.

            The group decided that the shot of gyptian drinking alcohol and smoking would be a bad idea because of advertisement isues

            We also decided that the video takes to long to get into it, so as a result of this I have shortened some shots and I have totally got rid of some

            Another decision that we made is that it would be a good idea if I kept referring back to the same shots but different clips of that shot

we decided to scrap the jumping into the club because we thought that it was too random and it does not fit in with the video

another improvement is that it would be better if we got rid of the end part of the video where there was alot of instromental clips, but because it does not go with the music genre.

treatment, hold you

the video will start as Gyptian is standing looking down as the beat of the song fades in. the background and surroundings will be totally black and there will be a spot light on him from above and thats it. he will be tapping his heel to the beat and will look up when it kicks in.

then when the chorus kicks in it will jump to a stage with gyptian performing and the crowd all jumping to the beat ( having a good time ), there will be lots of flashes and quick moving cameras to add to the effect of a fun concert.

then as the verses kick in it will get to the actual short story. there will be a track shot of gyptian walking down the street, he will be exaggerating his movements and his steps will be to the beat. he will then jump from step to step to the beat into the club and then a female ( very good looking ) will catch his eye straight away and he will go over and try to dance with her, as the next verse sets in, which is more upbeat she will tell him go leave for an unknown reason,

he will the leave and it will jump to where he is at home. he will be punching walls and acting very annoyed, at this part of the video there will be lots of quick white outs and black outs with allot of exadurated movements. just before the chorus sets in it goes almost silent, but with a slight beat, we see that he gets a phone call, he looks and notinces that it is the girl.

then literally in the last 2 seconds before the chorus sets in we see gyptians face in shock.as the chorus sets in again we see gyptian drop the phone and dash into a sprint, the shots after that will be very quick and snappy. they will be of gyptian running down the street and back into the club, we see him look around and finaly into the bathroom. then as the big beat ends (on the last beat) we will see gyptian punch a man that is arguing with the girl.

then as it goes silent and the chorus words sing " girl, me just want to hold you " gyptian will turn and hug the girl. then when it goes back to the chorus we will see the same shot as the first one where he is in the blackout but instead he will be dancing with the girl and then at the end it will fade out on him smiling.

Research report – gyptian – hold you ( shy fx )

To make a video for the song Gyptian – hold you ( shy fx ), I have decided to make sure that I make a video that is directly related and relevant to the song and genre. I have conducted primary research with the group that effected the video because they are almost my audience, so their ideas count, and secondary research, this is when I went online and looked at other videos from the same artists and from the same genre.

I conducted primary research, for this I did a got together with a group of people, I then presented my initial idea to the group and they told me their ideas of improvements and other ideas.

For my secondary research I looked at other videos for the same artist and other videos from the same type of genre, from this I found a lot of things, including the fact that this genre of music has no music solos, and therefore the videos have no instrumental solos of the screen, this effected my video idea. I also found that , with this genre of music there is a lot off either partying, clubbing or a lot of people  having fun at a concert of the artist, I also found that most of these videos include the artist singing/raping whilst walking down the street, or running into a club, to do this the videos used a track shot or crane shot, I found that a lot of the songs from this genre also include a good looking woman, and a lot of them make this good looking woman appear quite a lot. One of the main artists that I did my research on was David Guetta, I researched him because this song is a very dancy  tune and that is like the music that David Guetta makes, another factor is that most of these remixes of songs do not have any videos to them, so I had to research other artists that make similar music but that also have music videos to them.
