title of podcast :  evaluating the opening credits for the movie ‘SE7EN’

Hello, in this podcast i am going to evaluate the opening credits for the movie ‘seven’, i am going to talk about three main points, the three points are
the sounds used
words that we can see
and the images that we see.
Fist of all i am going to talk about the sounds that we can hear.
the sound that we can hear behind this particular opening sequence is in the form of almost a song, we hear a basic drum beat, with synths over and alot of other noises that go along with the beat.
these sounds consist of
a saw or chainsaw
clangs
scratches
door creeks
the white noise
the noise of static
and screams
all of these noises contribute to make a particularly spooky song, here is a small section of the track.

( PLAY CLIP OF THE AUDIO FILE )

as you have just heard the audio to this opening sequence is very unique but very spooky,

I am now going to evaluate the words that we can see pop up throughout the credits.
some of the many words that we see throughout the credits include random letters and numbers like
B35
D36
C24
these seem to be some sort of orginisational method, never the less you wont know what ther mean untill you watch the movie for yourself.
In another instance we can see some words in the local newspaper being crossed out by a mystirious hand. some of these words are
Intercourse
Fantasising
Transexual
Pregnant
all these words are sexualy related and create quite a tense feeling.
Some other words that we see pop up are
GOD
PEPENT
these could be related to the SEVEN DEADLY SINS.
now i am going to evaluate the images that we can see throughout the sequence.
the first thing we see is a plain old book being looked through
then we see a picture of crooked old hands on a scrapbook
then we see someone unlocking a little hatch
we then see someone scraping skin off of the end of their fingers
then we see someone with plasters over the end of their fingers writing
then we see someone cutting up bits of film and pictures
then we see someone arranging these parts
then we see some hand crossing words and pictures out
we then see pictures of dead people
then we see someone using a needle to thread pages together
and then we see shelves of hand made books and then someone cutting the word 'god' out of a dollar note.
